“Coming from Europe I did not know how to apply to architecture schools in the US. Evangelos explained everything to me in detail, helped me through the portfolio design process. I made it to MIT (SMArchs), and UC Berkeley on a fellowship.”
Francisco’s Story:
Francisco came to us with a rich background in architecture, that included graduating from one of the most prominent architecture schools and working for a great practitioner in his hometown in Spain. Francisco already had a portfolio put together and a pretty good idea of what he wanted to do in his career. His aspirations included completing a post-professional degree at MIT or Berkeley.
We began with an evaluation of his portfolio. This evaluation included 30 different important points, on which Francisco received honest and thorough critique. The critique was based on our own analysis and critique methodology, developed based on our experience of dealing on an 1-on-1 basis with over 130 architecture school applicants since 2001 for months at a time.
After receiving his portfolio evaluation, Francisco realized that the problem with his portfolio was in the clarity of his mission and his strategy. He met with us for a strategic development session, after which he proceeded to work with us on the development of parts of his portfolio that needed development.
Within a few months, Francisco’s portfolio was complete and through it Francisco was able to communicate what made him a unique candidate and how he could contribute to the M.S.Arch. cohort at MIT and Berkeley.
